A Note for Adult Children
If you’re reading this on behalf of a parent–trying to help them through a transition they’re not quite sure how to begin—I want you to know: I understand this role deeply.
You’re navigating a delicate balance. You want to support without taking over. You want to move things forward without rushing. You want your parent to feel in control of their own journey while also knowing they have someone watching out for every detail.
That is exactly what I provide. I work at your parent’s pace, with your parent’s preferences at the center of every decision. I keep you informed at every step. And I bring the patience, the experience, and the network to make this transition as smooth as it possibly can be.
Many of my best relationships in this niche began with a phone call from an adult child. If that’s you—I’d love to hear from you.
Questions I Hear Most Often.
How do I know if I’m ready to rightsize?
There’s rarely a single moment of certainty — it’s usually a quiet accumulation of thoughts. If the home feels too large, if maintenance has become more burden than joy, if you’re thinking about being closer to family or wanting a simpler day-to-day — those are the signals worth paying attention to. A first conversation costs nothing and often brings more clarity than months of wondering.
How long does the rightsizing process take?
Every journey is different — and that’s the whole point. Some clients are ready to move in three months. Others need a year of thoughtful preparation. I work at your pace, not mine. We build a timeline together that fits your life, not a template.
Do I have to figure out where I’m going before I sell?
Not necessarily. We work through the destination question together as part of your personalized transition plan. Many clients find that once they understand their equity position and the options available to them, the next step becomes much clearer than they expected.
What if I’m not sure I want to move at all?
That’s exactly why the first conversation exists. There’s no obligation, no pressure, and no expectation that you’ll make a decision on the spot. I’m here to give you information and perspective, so that whatever you decide, you’re deciding from a place of clarity rather than uncertainty.
Does this level of service cost more?
No. My commission is the same as any other real estate advisor. The concierge experience — the vendor coordination, the preparation, the proactive communication, the step-by-step guidance — is simply how I work. For every client. Every time. You’re not paying more. You’re simply choosing a higher standard.
